World
Book Day |

On
Thursday 5th March everyone at Stakesby School
had an outstanding ‘World Book Day.’
Staff and pupils dressed up as their favourite
book characters. The dinner ladies got into the
spirit of the day and brightened up the dinner
hall and playground by dressing up as the Queen
of Hearts and her magnificent cards from the story
Alice In Wonderland. We also designed book covers
and wrote reviews about our favourite books |

We
held a competition for best costume; in one case
a Humpa Lumpa! Some classes held a cat walk to
decide who would represent the class overall.
The Whitby Gazette came to take pictures of the
best dressed girls and boys from each class. All
the children had a great time with their outfits,
in all we managed to raise over £100 which
will be used to buy new books for our library! |
