 MONDAY 14TH JUNE 2010

Hi Everyone!

Everyone arrived safely and have had a brilliant first afternoon, getting very wet. We are all looking forward to a fantanstic day of canoeing and treasure hunting. The food is fab with lots of children going back for seconds! The dormitories are comfortable and Miss Wadsworth’s group gained a 9 in their dormitory inspection by Mr Gunning. However the boys only gained a 8 out of 10 for theirs. We are attempting to upload some pictures without much success, but we will keep trying!

TUESDAY 15TH JUNE 2010

Both groups have been canoeing today on a nearby lake (relax - it is only 2 or 3 feet deep!) Fantastic experience for all concerned and of course everybody ended up in the water at the end! Then there was the treasure hunt working down from the moors and through the nearby forests. Lots of great problem solving and teamwork with treasure at the end. Everyone having a great time. Year 6

Hi Mum. Went canoeing, got soaked. Went for a walk and then make a new song about a pony. See you on Friday. From Marcus

Hello Mum. Got really soaked because of Danny tipping me in went we went canoeing. Ended up getting a curly wurly on the treasure hunt. Then went to a nearby park tonight. Love from Kerryn XX

Hi Mum and Dad. Having a great time. Didn’t get a lot of sleep last night! It’s great! Went canoeing and did a treasure hunt today. Went gorge walking yesterday. Favourite bit so far was capsizing the canoe. Bye. Owen
Hiya Mum. Having a mint time! Yesterday, did the jungle gym. It was so funny. We went across a rope swing over three foot of muddy water and dropped in on purpose. Also went canoeing today. We did lots of different games on the water and at the end, we purposely jumped in. See you on Friday. Josh
Hi Mum. Today I went canoeing. It was awesome. I pulled Miss Wadsworth into the water LOL. It was good at the end, we went for a general swim in the gooey, muddy water. Today I also went on the treasure hunt and I climbed under a big crocodile rock. It was so hard to get under. The treasure hunt was a bit like Forbidden Corner. It’s a puzzle riddle type of thing. Missing you loads. Love Danny. Tell Dad and Andy I’m missing them.   XXX
Hi Mum and Dad. Having a brilliant time. Been canoeing today and it was brilliant. Miss you loads. Love Emma XXXX

Hi Mum. Went canoeing today. It was mint because I fell in the water about 20 times. Tell Maisie ‘I love you’ and Luke. Don’t be on the game too long because I’ll be back. Bye Nathan S

WEDNESDAY 16TH JUNE 2010
Everybody had another great day. Brilliant weather. Excellent behaviour from all the children. They are so kind and cooperative with each other. The Bewerley staff have made many positive comments and we are all enjoying spending time with them. There have been a lot of personal highlights where children have had a go and surprised themselves. Everyone can feel really proud of their children!
Today both groups have been up to the high moors to see the Scar House Dam - a bleak and forbidding spot but beautiful today. Group 1 did the jungle gym and group 2 went Gorge scrambling at How Stean Gorge. This is also the site of a cave which was the hiding place (and eventually the place where he was hanged) of Tom Taylor the highwayman. The children scrambled into this dark cave and heard the whole gruesome story by the light of a single candle. Let’s hope they’ve forgotten by tonight!
Just in case they’ve got any energy left, they’ve gone swimming tonight here at the centre!
Looking forward to the climbing at Brimham Rocks tomorrow.           Year 6

##
Hello Mother. Today, I attended jungle gym. There was a big tunnel that we had to crawl through. It was pitch black and funny at the same time. The rope swing was hilarious because of instead of making to the other side, I obviously jumped into the muddy sloppy water. Missing you lots and Dad and Andy. Tell them again I said hello. Love you XXXXX Danny
##
Hi Mum. Missing you lots. Today we went Gorge Walking and it was brilliant. I didn’t want to do it at first but I really enjoyed myself in the end.  Then we went into Tom Taylors cave which was scary because there was no lights and we had to use candles. As well as Gorge Walking , we went swimming and we did many challenges. Love you lots. See you soon. Parris XXXXX

I have printed the invitations for the Story Gardens Opening today - let’s hope the weather stays just as fantastic as it is now! We are having our ‘Green Britain Day’ next Tuesday at school- so come dressed in green or fancy dress as a minibeast on the day! Newspaper fashions and all sorts planned.  Take care and have loads more fun!  Mrs Holliday x

THURSDAY 17TH JUNE 2010

Today, we either walked to Brimham Rocks or back depending on which group. Once there, we had a brilliant time climbing through holes, under rocks, through boulders and of course through the Cheese Press and the Smartie Tube. It was very hot all day and we were all exhausted when we got back. Then we had some time in the Common Room tonight before a final game of rounders.
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.                   Year 6
##
Hi mum. I went to Brimham rocks today. I got up and fit through everything. It was awesome apart from the four mile walk home. I was really tired after that but I regained my energy when I had a little lie down on my bed. We played a quick game of rounders and football but we had to stop because Mr Bates was tired. I will be very happy to see you tomorrow.  Danny XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Hi Mum/Dad. I have had a great time at Bewerley Park. I was prepared to do stuff that I would never have thought I would do in my life. My favourite thing was Brimham Rocks today because there was thin spaces and I fit through them. I have got really wet on most days and ran out of pants! It has been really fun and I never thought I would have so much fun in my life. I have missed you from the day I came and I can’t wait to see you tomorrow.  Love from Lawrance.
